1. Who we are
Crafted for Courage, LLC, 7031 Timber Trail Lane S Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Reach us at info@craftedforcourage.com or 651-263-2450.
By ordering from us, you agree to these terms.
2. What we sell
Ready-made pieces. 3D-printed tribute items — emblems, plaques, trays, and similar — made and shipped from stock designs.
Custom pieces. Illuminated Tributes, made from photographs or signatures you supply. These are made for you and for nobody else.
Everything is made by hand in small quantities. Colors, finish, and small details vary between pieces. Photographs on the site show representative examples, not the exact item you will receive.
3. Ordering a custom piece
You pay when you order. You choose the piece, upload your photographs, and pay at checkout.
Lise sends you a proof before anything is printed. She lays out the piece by hand around your photographs and emails you a proof from her own email address. You approve it by replying. Nothing is printed until you do.
Changes are expected. If you want something different, reply and say so. Lise sends a new proof, as many times as it takes. Nothing counts down or expires.
If a photograph will not print well, Lise will tell you why and ask for another before she goes on.
You can withdraw before production begins. Until your piece goes into production, which happens only after you approve the proof, email us and we will refund you in full.
Approving the proof is the agreement. When you approve a proof, that is the piece we make.
4. Your photographs
You keep ownership. Your photograph remains yours.
You give us permission to use it to make your piece. Specifically: to store it, prepare it, and print it, for the purpose of filling your order and for nothing else. This permission ends when we delete the file under our Privacy Policy.
We will not use it for anything else without your yes. The only other use is the optional box on the product page, "Lise may show the finished piece." If you tick it, Lise may photograph the finished piece for the website and will send you the photograph before anything is published. If you leave it unticked, nothing from your order is ever shown. Email us any time before it is published to change your answer.
You confirm you have the right to use the photograph. Before you can add a piece to your cart, you tick "I have the right to use these images." That means you either took the photograph, own it, or have permission from whoever does. School and studio portraits usually belong to the photographer rather than the family. We cannot verify this and we rely on you.
What we will not print. We will decline, and refund you, if a submission involves:
- A photograph you do not have the right to use
- Someone's likeness used without their permission, where they are living
- Copyrighted or trademarked material belonging to someone else
- Content that is hateful, threatening, sexual, or unlawful
- Military insignia, decorations, or unit emblems you are not entitled to use
This is not about judging what matters to you. It is about what we are permitted to make.
5. Licensing
We hold a United States Marine Corps trademark license (#766-26), which covers our Marine Corps designs. Pieces for other service branches are available on request.
Some designs are produced under a paid design license from Steven Wolf Studios.
Marine Corps emblems and insignia remain the property of the United States Marine Corps, and Steven Wolf Studios designs remain the property of Steven Wolf Studios. Buying a piece transfers no rights in either.
6. Prices, payment, and tax
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive your card details.
Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address, where we are registered to collect it.
We may change prices at any time. Changes do not affect an order you have already placed.
7. Shipping
United States only. We do not currently ship internationally.
Flat rate of $9.00, waived on orders of $100.00 or more.
One order, one box. If your order includes a custom piece, the whole order is held and ships together, in one box, when the custom piece is ready — including any ready-made pieces in it. You pay one shipping charge for the whole order.
Timing. Ready-made pieces usually ship within 48 to 72 hours. Custom pieces take 2 to 4 weeks from payment, because each one is prepared and printed individually. There is no rush option. These are good-faith estimates, not guarantees.
Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes the package. If it is lost or damaged in transit, see the next section — we will still take care of you.
8. Returns and refunds
Ready-made pieces. Return within 30 days for a full refund of the item price, provided the piece is unused and undamaged. You pay return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or we sent the wrong thing. Original shipping is not refunded.
Custom pieces. Because each one is made from your photographs for you alone, custom pieces cannot be returned once production has begun. That is why Lise sends a proof first: the decision point comes before the work starts, not after.
Before production begins, email us and we will refund you in full.
If your order also has ready-made pieces, you can withdraw the custom piece and keep the rest. We refund the custom piece's price and its share of the sales tax. Shipping is not refunded, and the ready-made pieces then ship.
If something is wrong with your piece, we will make it right. Damaged in shipping, a print flaw, not what you ordered or the proof you approved — tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will repair it, remake it, or refund it. Photographs of the problem help.
What is not covered: normal variation between handmade pieces, or damage from use, drops, heat, or sunlight.
Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.
9. Care, and what these pieces are
These are 3D-printed plastic objects. They are decorative.
Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from heat — a hot car will deform one. Clean with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Do not submerge, and do not use solvents.
Custom pieces with a light. Most Illuminated Tributes come with a base and a USB-powered light; the plain cylinder has neither. Use a standard USB power source. We are not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable power supplies.
10. Availability
We are a small business. Designs come and go, licensing changes what we can offer, and materials run out. We may change or discontinue anything without notice. If we cannot fill an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.
11. Limits
We warrant that your piece will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 30 days after delivery. That is our whole warranty and it replaces any other, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.
Our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Legal
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Your order is governed by the terms in effect when you placed it.
